The debate
is about over and the so-called `stimulus plan` is about to become legislative
reality. Will it help or hurt prosperity for our country at this troubling time?
There is lots of talk that it will `create jobs`. Let`s get something straight.
This bill is indeed stimulus but not for our struggling economy. If you actually
read the bill (I have), you will notice that it will overwhelmingly
stimulate the growth of government.
How about
jobs? Does it stimulate the creation of jobs? The jobs being `created` are
government jobs. The problem is that the ONLY way you can create a government
job is by first destroying a job (or two or three) in the private sector! It is
the same concept as if I quietly took $2 out of your back pocket and then made
a big fuss about putting only $1 in your front pocket. Disgraceful!
As you can
tell, I think this `stimulus plan` is wrong. It is a net job destroyer. It will
harm the economy in the long run so I am definitely against it. But look if you
are going to pass it anyway, then why not do `Paul`s Alternate Stimulus Plan`?
Here it is:
The `stimulus
plan` costs about $800 billion. There are 300 million Americans. That comes out to
approximately $2,700 for every man, woman and child in our nation. Why not just send
them a check?! A family of four would $10,800. That way they could use the
money as they see fit. The public could see the money in just a few weeks and
use it immediately. They could spend, save, invest, pay off debt, etc. So-called
economic `stimulus` would come fast. Why not!?
In my
option, that would be a better use of the money versus the fraud, waste and
pork that is currently planned. Damn it - it`s your money. No one is asking the
hard question:
HOW WOULD WE PAY FOR THIS
STIMULUS?
It is not
free money; it is your money! This huge spending bill could only be paid by
Current
taxes, future taxes and/or inflation. Directly or indirectly, WE or OUR
children would pay for it. Government is putting us TRILLIONS in the hole and
it is getting worse. An inflationary depression is coming our way. You better
